LAKEVILLE, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell 9-0 to the University of St. Thomas on Sunday at the Lifetime Fitness.
Madilyn Jankila (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at No. 2 singles and
Maria Valentini (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) at No. 6 singles both won three games in their respective opening sets.
In doubles, the No. 3 team of
Emily Carpenter (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) and
Hannah Loewen (St. James, Minn./St. James HS) also won three games in their defeat.
The Tommies (1-3), who are transitioning to NCAA Division I next year, played all Division I opponents up until today, including two matches on Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Saints (0-3) will head back to Milwaukee area Saturday for the makeup match with Wisconsin Lutheran College. Action is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the Wisconsin Athletic Club.
