csssaints.com) – Three games, three nine-goal outputs for the St. Scholastica women's hockey team against Lawrence University (Wis.) this season as the Saints defeated the Vikings 9-0 Wednesday night at Mars Lakeview Arena in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup Quarterfinal.
How it Happened
St. Scholastica's first four goals of the contest came on the power-play as
Taylor Murray (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) scored the first and
Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) added the second. Those were the only two goals of the first period despite the Saints having a 30-4 advantage in shots.
Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) scored 34 seconds into the second period for the third power-play goal and Pohlkamp added her second power-play goal later in the period to extend the lead to 4-0. Kasel added her second tally of the period 44 seconds after the Pohlkamp goal and Murray recorded her second power-play goal of the game two minutes later as the Saints led 6-0 after two periods.
Mariah Haedrich (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) netted her first goal of the season 22 seconds into the third period. Later in the period,
Lily Holtz (Austin, Minn./Austin HS) scored her second goal of the season, short-handed, to make it 8-0. With a little over three minutes remaining, Murray capped off the hat trick to make the final score 9-0.

Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) made 15 saves to earn her first collegiate shutout. Katie Jablynski and Sydney Seeley combined to make 74 saves for the Vikings (0-9-0).
