DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team led for much of the first quarter, but North Central University (Minn.) had the advantage in the middle portion of the game to pull away and win 68-48 Thursday night at the Reif Gymnasium.

How It Happened
The Saints held the Rams (15-2, 6-0 UMAC) without a made field goal until less than four minutes remaining in the first quarter. CSS went on a 12-0 run during that stretch with Morgan Anderson (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS (UW-Superior)) scoring six of those points as the Saints led 12-2. However, North Central finished the period on a 12-2 run to tie the contest at 14-14.

A Ramsey Moe (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) 3-pointer made it 20-19 with 5:30 remaining in the first half, however the Rams closed out the period strong again with a 13-4 run and led 36-25 at the half.

A Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) 3-pointer made it an eight-point deficit four minutes into the second half, but those were the last points for the Saints in the period as North Central closed third quarter with 12 consecutive points to take a 52-32 lead.

That 20-point margin was the final margin as North Central prevailed 68-48.

Top Performers
Kennedy finished with 13 points to lead the Saints. Anderson had 11 points and eight rebounds. Ashley Faur (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds.

Jocelyn Talso and Emily DiGiorgio each had 19 points to lead the Rams.
