csssaints.com) – In a game that was delayed over two hours due to Concordia University Wisconsin transportation issues, the St. Scholastica women's hockey team got three goals in the second period en route to a 4-0 victory late Saturday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.
How it Happened
After a scoreless first period, which saw the Saints outshoot the Falcons 13-4,
Kennedy Halverson (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) put the Saints on the board six minutes into the second period with her second of the season.
Jessie Ketola (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelly HS) had the assist.
Only 47 seconds later,
Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) scored for the fourth consecutive game to make it 2-0. Halverson had the assist on that goal. Later in the period,
Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) scored for the sixth straight game to make it 3-0 with
Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) credited with the assist. The goal gave Anderson 100 career points.
Anderson added an insurance goal in the final five minutes of the third period with assists from
Lizzie Northquest (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) and
Taylor Murray (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) to make the final score 4-0.
Goaltending
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) made 29 saves for her second shutout of the season to improve to 6-0 on the year. Annalina Van Hercke had 36 saves for the Falcons (5-7-0, 2-2-0 NCHA).
