Healy Registers Hat Trick as Women’s Hockey Puts Up 9 for the Second Straight Night

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the second consecutive night the St. Scholastica women's hockey team put up at least 70 shots on goal and scored nine goals to complete the weekend sweep of Lawrence University (Wis.) 9-2 Sunday evening at Mars Lakeview Arena.
 
How it Happened
The Saints scored three goals in each period. Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) got the scoring started one minute and seven seconds into game with her fourth of the season. Sara Parent (Otsego, Minn./Rogers HS) and Taylor Thompson (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) had the assists. Lisa LaRoche (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) recorded her first collegiate goal at the midway point of the period with assists from Anderson and Thompson.
 
Ashley Healy (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) added her first of the evening with less than two minutes remaining in the opening period to make it 3-0. The Vikings (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NCHA) added a goal 21 seconds later to make it 3-1 at the first intermission.
 
Healy scored her second of the game six minutes into the second period and then put in her third to complete the hat trick five minutes later to make the margin 5-1. After Lawrence added its second of the game, Courtney Bloemke (Nicollet, Minn./Mankato West HS) scored her first goal of the season to make the score 6-2 at the second intermission.
 
Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) made it 7-2 six minutes into the third period. LaRoche then scored her second of the evening with eight minutes remaining and Bloemke added her second of the game with four minutes to go to make the final 9-2.
 
Goaltending
Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) made 11 saves in her first collegiate start. Katie Jablynski made 63 saves for the Vikings.

The Saints (5-0-0, 2-0-0 NCHA) will have another Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) home-and-home series with Concordia University Wisconsin next weekend beginning in Mequon, Wisconsin Friday night at 7 p.m.
