How it Happened
The first period saw the Saints score four goals. Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) got things started three minutes in. Taylor Murray (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) followed with a goal at the midway point of the period. Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) scored for the fourth straight game with less than five minutes remaining and Allie Bussey (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) added the final goal of the opening period a minute later to make it 4-0.

St. Scholastica added two more goals in the second period with Jessie Ketola (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelly HS) scoring the first and Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) adding the second to make it 6-0 at the second intermission.

Ketola added another goal to begin the scoring in the third period for her first career multi-goal game. Bussey added her second of the evening on the power-play with eight minutes remaining. Kennedy Halverson (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) scored the final goal of the night, her first collegiate tally, to make it 9-0. The Vikings were able to avoid the shoutout, scoring their first-ever goal as a program with over three minutes remaining to make the final 9-1.

Goaltending
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) made eight saves in two periods to earn the win. Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) made her first collegiate appearance and made six saves. Sydney Seeley had 70 saves for the Vikings.
