DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – Coming off of Friday night's draw down in Minneapolis, the St. Scholastica women's hockey took care of business on its home ice of Mars Lakeview Arena Saturday night, defeating Augsburg University 4-1 to complete the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) series.

How it Happened
The Saints took advantage of their first power-play opportunity in the opening period as Mariah Haedrich (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) put in a rebound to make it 1-0 with assists from Allie Bussey (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) and Taylor Thompson (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS). The Auggies (1-4-1, 1-2-1 MIAC) tied it three minutes later with a wrap-around goal to make it 1-1. It remained 1-1 at the first intermission with the Auggies having a 17-13 edge in shots.

With the score still 1-1, Abby Pohlkamp (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) intercepted a pass at center ice and skated in one-on-one with the goaltender and won that matchup, finding the net to make it 2-1. Then with just over a minute remaining in the period, Courtney Bloemke (Nicollet, Minn./Mankato West HS) intercepted another pass and found herself on a breakaway and also found the net to make it 3-1 at the second intermission.

The third period remained scoreless up until the waning second as Lauryn Hull (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly HS) found the empty net for her second goal in as many nights as the Saints went on to win 4-1.

Goaltending
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) finished with a season-high 40 saves, the second-most of her career. Mara McClain had 27 saves for the Auggies
