How It Happened
Emma Schmidt (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) gave the Saints an early lead draining a 3-pointer in the opening minute of play. Unfortunately for CSS, it would only make one more 3-pointer the rest of the night. Later in the first quarter, a

A
Miranda Broberg (Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS (UW-Superior)) layup cut the margin to 12 in the third quarter and then a
Megan Hurley (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) three-point-play made it an 11-point margin. However, Superior responded with a 7-0 run to put the deficit at 18 once again. CSS trailed 55-38 at the end of three quarters. Hurley had eight points for the Saints in the third quarter.
CSS would run out of gas in the fourth quarter as Hurley's layup with 7:43 remaining was the final field goal of the game for the Saints. UWS finished the game on a 10-2 run to win 71-45.
