RIVER FALLS, Wis. (
csssaints.com) – On Tuesday night, the St. Scholastica's women's hockey team fell to fourth-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls 6-0 in non-conference action as the Falcons scored a pair of goals in each period.
How it Happened
In the first period River Falls scored two goals on the Saints. The first one was within the first four minutes of the game and the second was iin the final seven minutes. The Saints had six shots while the Falcons (7-0-0) had 11 in the first period.
Throughout the second period two more goals were scored by River Falls. Both goals were scored in the final eight minutes of the period. The Falcons had a 15-2 shot advantage in the period.
In the final period of the game the Falcons' final two goals were both scored within the first minute to make the final 6-0.
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) and had 22 saves for the Saints, while
Ashlea Arvidson (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral HS) goaltended also had 22 saves in relief. Sami Miller had 14 saves to earn the shutout for the Falcons.
