csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica football team returns to Duluth on Saturday where it will host Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) matchup at Malosky Stadium.

St. Scholastica Saints
Record: 0-2, 0-2 MIAC
What You Need To Know about St. Scholastica:
-The Saints will enter Saturday's matchup having won their last 13 games at Malosky Stadium. The last CSS loss at UMD's home field took place in way back in the team's inaugural season of 2008 a 35-14 setback to Northwestern (Minn.).
-Saturday will also be the first Northwoods Divisional matchup for both MIAC teams. When considering seeding tiebreakers for championship week at the end of the season, divisional records are the first criteria.
-CSS is coming off a 34-18 loss at Hamline University last Saturday.
-
Byron Bishop (Sublimity, Ore./Regis HS) for 215 yards and two scores.
-
Mitchell Adrian (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) had seven receptions for 72 yards and a score.
-
Bryceton Butkiewicz (Kettle River, Minn./Moose Lake HS) ran for 81 yards on 18 carries.
-Butkiewicz leads the MIAC, averaging 107.5 rushing yards per game.
-Speaking of leading the MIAC,
Tandrell Foster (Hurley, Wis./Hurley HS) leads the conference averaging a sack per game and 2.8 tackles for a loss per contest.
-
Jake Kukowski (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) leads the league averaging 10.0 tackles per game.
-CSS needs to do a better job protecting the QB as they are allowing 4.5 sacks per game.
-The Saints have been outscored 53-7 in the first half through the first two games.

Gustavus Adolphus Gusties
Record: 3-1, 1-1 MIAC
What You Need to Know about Gustavus:
-The Gusties suffered their first loss of the season last week against No. 16 Bethel University by a final of 34-9.
-Gustavus is receiving votes in this week's D3football.com Top 25 poll.
-Gustavus had a big non-conference win over No. 15 Wartburg College (Iowa) earlier this season.
-The Gusties rank second in the MIAC in total offense (443.5 yards/game) and rushing offense (171.3 yards/game).
-They also rank second in time of possession, averaging 32:54 per game.
-Gustavus has used two different quarterbacks this season as senior Michael Veldman did not play last week vs. Bethel.
-Sophomore quarterback Jake Breitbach was 15-of-28 against the Royals last week with four interceptions.
-Before being injured Veldman was averaging 17.1 yards/completion, which ranked eighth nationally.
-Dalton Thelen has been the favorite target of the quarterbacks with 23 receptions for 393 yards and three scores.
-Thelen also has returned a kickoff for a touchdown this season.
-On the ground, David Peal has run for 272 yards and five touchdowns.
-Austin Fest leads the defense with 28 tackles
-Zachary Jakes has a pair of sacks to top the defensive unit.
-Carson Dekam ranks second in NCAA Division III with three fumble recoveries.
