DULUTH, Minn. (
csssaints.com) -- On Tuesday, the St. Scholastica's women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision against the University of Wisconsin-Superior at Saints Field.
How it Happened
St. Scholastica fell behind 1-0 to the Yellowjackets (12-3-0) about halfway through the first half of the game. Goalkeeper
Taelynn Gittins (Hugo, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) was able to keep it to just a one score game for the remainder of the half.
At halftime, CSS' six seniors were announced and received recognition for their contributions to the team during their time at CSS.
In the second half, things started to look up for CSS when
Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) scored in the 60th minute of the game. The tie game was short lived as the Yellowjackets pulled ahead and scored their second goal in the 68th minute of the game. The Saints unfortunately were not able to come back before time ran out and took a loss 2-1.
Senior
Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) Scored her seventh goal of the season and her 80th goal in her collegiate career.
Both goals for UW-Superior were scored by Allison Alessi in the 21st minute of the game and the 68th minute of the game.
