ST. PAUL (
csssaints.com) -- On Tuesday night, the St. Scholastica's women's soccer team led 1-0 at the half, but saw Macalester College score a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to defeat the Saints 2-1.
How it Happened
St. Scholastica was able to score first in the 26th minute of the game as
Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) got behind the defense and put away her sixth goal of the season.
Kaiya Quam (Oakdale, Minn./Mounds View HS) had the assist. The Saints were able to hold the Scots (8-3-2, 3-3-1 MIAC) to a scoreless first half.
The second half didn't play out in favor of CSS. Macalester scored their first goal in the 53rd minute of the game and then shortly again thereafter in the 55th minute of the game. Friday would hit the crossbar in the 68
th minute as the Saints ended up falling short with a final score of 2-1.
