DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team announced seniors Madissen Burns (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) and Kelsi Rippberger (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) as its team captains for the 2020 season.
 
Burns has appeared in at least 25 matches in each of her first three seasons, accumulating 457 kills and 128 total blocks from her middle hitter position. In 2019, Burns averaged a career-best 1.88 points per set. She will also be carrying a 4.0 grade-point-average into her senior season.
 
Rippberger has appeared in 55 career matches with over 600 career assists and 300 digs from her setter position. Rippberger was an Academic All-UMAC honoree this past year.
 
Along with the captains, Head Coach Dana Moore also announced her Leadership Team for the upcoming year, which includes Burns and Rippberger, along with juniors Haley Rohwer (Norwood Young America, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) and Ellie Greenwaldt (Raymond, Minn./Central Minnesota Christian School), sophomores Jessica Remer (Grand Forks, N.D./Sacred Heart HS) and first-year player Quinlyn Rubeck.
 
The Saints are scheduled to open their season in 90 days on September 1 at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
