Olivia Howe (Scandia, Minn./Forest Lake HS) provided the third hit. First-year pitcher
Haley Rosenthal (Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) had a no-hitter through the first four innings, but surrendered back-to-back doubles to begin the fifth as the Saints fell behind 1-0. The Leopards (2-1) added two more runs with two outs in the sixth to make the final 3-0.

St. Scholastica was also held to three hits in the second game of the day against Saint Mary's. The game was scoreless into the bottom of the seventh when the Saints inadvertently thought the inning was over and the Belles' (4-2) runner at third at the time broke for home and scored the game-winning run to give Saint Mary's the 1-0 victory.
Howe had two of the team's three hits with
Autumn Siers (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) recording the other. Rosenthal allowed just four hits herself, while striking out four to pick up the hard-luck loss.
