csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica baseball team may have played its last game on Friday, which resulted in a 6-1 loss to Benedictine University (Ill.) at the RussMatt Invitational.

The Eagles (3-3) scored on a pair of groundouts in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Saints made it 2-1 in the bottom frame when senior
Braydon Hanson (Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS (UW-Whitewater)) that brought in senior
Aaron Weber (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Pierz HS) with a double.
Benedictine added a run in the fourth and three more runs in the sixth to make it 6-1, which would be the final score.

Jake Sande (Hayward, Wis./Hayward HS) got the start for the Saints and struck out six in 4.2 innings. Senior
Daniel Deitz (Andover, Minn./Andover HS (Anoka-Ramsey CC)) finished the game, throwing two scoreless innings.
What's Next
The Saints are now 4-4-1 for the 2020 season. St. Scholastica's last two opponents on the trip decided not to travel to Florida. The NCAA came out on Thursday announcing the cancellation of the Spring Championships due to COVID-19. The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) is still in discussions on how to proceed with the spring sport season.
