What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-CSS swept Finlandia University (Mich.) last week to clinch the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) North Division's last postseason spot.
-In Thursday's 8-1 win, it was the most goals scored by the Saints since November of 2016.
-Junior defenseman
Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)) had six points in the series on three goals and three assists.
-Fralich ranks third among NCHA North Division defensemen with 14 points and went over 50 career points against Finlandia.
-Senior goaltender
Zane Steeves (Red Deer, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (100 Mile Wranglers-KIJHL)) earned the win in both games.
-Steeves had not played since January 4 and had not played a full game since December 13.
-Steeves ranks fifth in the NCHA with a .921 save percentage.
-The Saints are 2-2 against the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season with losses against Augsburg University and wins against Saint John's University and Gustavus Adolphus College.
-Sophomore
Jon Hansen (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall (Minnesota Mullets-USPHL)) has two goals and three assists in the last four games.
-Junior
Carson Rose (Surrey, British Columbia/Elgin Park Secondary (Weyburn-SJHL)) has re-taken the team lead with 16 points with a team-best 10 goals.
What You Need to Know about St. Thomas:
Record: 9-8-3, 6-5-1 MIAC
-The Tommies are coming off a series split against rival Saint John's with each team winning on the other's home ice.
-St. Thomas is currently sixth in the MIAC standings.
-The Tommies are 1-3 against the NCHA with a win over Concordia University Wisconsin, but losses against MSOE, Trine University (Ind.) and Aurora University (Ill.).
-The Tommies have been a better team away from St. Paul this season with a 7-2-2 road record.
-St. Thomas leads the MIAC in scoring offense, averaging 3.2 goals per game.
-Senior John Peterson leads the team with eight goals and 17 points.
-Senior Brett Gravelle leads the team with 11 assists.
-Gravelle has over 100 career points.
-Sophomore Cam Buggrabe has seen the most time in net for St. Thomas and has a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .892 save percentage.
-The Tommies are 5-1 in one-goal games.
