csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell to Luther College (Iowa) on Saturday 8-1 at the Lifetime Fitness with senior
Syd Holt (Pequot Lakes, Minn. /Pequot Lakes HS) earning the team's lone win.
Doubles
The Saints dropped all three doubles matches with the No. 1 team of
Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century HS) and
Madilyn Jankila (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) dropping a tight match 8-6.
Singles
Holt cruised in her first set at the No. 3 spot, blanking her opponent 6-0. However, she would drop the second set 7-5 to force a third-set super-breaker. It would be a close 10-point super-breaker as well, but Holt prevailed 11-9 for her second consecutive singles win.
Julia Ellefson (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) also went to a super-breaker at the No. 4 spot, but fell by scores of 4-6, 6-4, (10-5).

The Saints (0-5) will next be in action in sunny Florida over Spring Break where they will open with Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) and Saint Mary's College (Ind.) on Sunday, March 8.
