RHINELANDER, Wis. (csssaints.com) – Junior Samantha Benzing (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) led the St. Scholastica women's ski team on Saturday in the 15km classic mass start of the Northwoods Nordic Invitational at the CAVOC Trails.
 
Top Performers
Benzing finished 11^th in the field with a time of 1:00:25 to lead the team for the third time this season in a CCSA race. First-year skier Leah Dutkewych (Jefferson, N.H./White Mountains HS) was the next CSS skier to cross the finish line in 15^th place with a time of 1:03:12. It marked the first time this season Dutkewych has scored for the team. Another first-year skier, Maja Petersson (Solleftea, Sweden/Solleftea Gymnasium) was the final Saint to score in 17^th with a time of 1:04:58. That marked the second straight race where Petersson has scored.
 
Team Scores
Michigan Tech University had the top team total for the day, edging Northern Michigan University 100-98. Northern Michigan's Malin Boerjesjoe won the event with a time of 54:54.
 
The Saints placed third as a team with 65 points.
