csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team got a goal each period in a 3-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) victory over Concordia University Wisconsin Friday night.
How it Happened
The first goal of the contest came eight minutes into the game when
Lauryn Hull (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly HS) found the net.
Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and
Taylor Thompson (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) had the assists.
Moving to the second period, it was another first-year skater in
Lily Holtz (Austin, Minn./Austin HS) who lit the lamp less than five minutes into the period to extend the lead to 2-0.
Mariah Haedrich (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) and
Kayla Kasel (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) were credited with the assists.
The Saints added insurance with less than seven minutes remaining on a Thompson goal. Hull and Anderson had the assists to make the final 3-0.
Goaltending
Junior
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) earned her second shutout of the season, stopping all 26 shots she faced. Breanna Thomson had 15 saves for the Falcons.
