How It Happened
Northland (3-10, 1-5 UMAC) got out to a quick 4-0 start before

The Saints would battle with Northland for buckets the whole second quarter with
Morgan Anderson (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS (UW-Superior)) scoring the final four points of the quarter to give the Saints a 35-34 lead heading into halftime. Anderson had six points in the quarter to lead the team.
Once again the Saints and LumberJills traded buckets for the majority of the third quarter with the Saints gaining their largest lead of the game at 43-36 following an
Emma Schmidt (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) layup. Northland would go on an 11-5 run in the last six minutes of the quarter to gain a one-point lead at 47-46.
The fourth quarter would lead to more back and forth offensive possessions with both teams gaining three-point leads throughout the quarter. A successful and-one play by Northland gave a 67-64 lead with 43 seconds left in the game. Kennedy would come up clutch getting an and-one on the other end to tie the game up at 67-67 and bring the game into overtime. Kennedy scored the final seven points of regulation for CSS and had 13 points in the period.
The Saints would not lead in overtime. Northland went on a quick 5-0 run to gain a 76-71 lead with two and a half minutes left in overtime. CSS only got one possession down the stretch where they had a chance to tie the game, but a 3-point attempt with 10 seconds remaining fell short and the LumberJills would hold on for the 81-78 victory.
