csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team held North Central University (Minn.) to one shot in a 5-0 victory on Tuesday at Saints Field in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener for both teams.
How it Happened
The Saints got on the board very quickly as
Nolan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) put in a cross from
Taylor Tran (Northridge, Calif./Granada Hills Charter HS) just three minutes in to make it 1-0. Later in the 21
st minute,
Noah Hooey (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) headed in a corner kick from
Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS) to make the score 2-0.
10 minutes later, off another CSS corner,
Alex Dodd (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) would find the top far corner to make it 3-0 at halftime. Huffington and
Armin Bobaric (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) had the assists.
Moving to the second half, Friday added his second of the day with an assist from Dodd. Dodd then added his second of the game in the 74
th minute to make the final score 5-0.
Goalkeeping
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) did not have to make a save to earn his first career shutout.
