AVCA ACADEMIC TEAMS

LEXINGTON, Ky. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team earned its fourth straight and 10^th overall Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Monday.
 
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
 
The Saints were one of 175 NCAA Division III programs to receive the honor, including one of three Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) schools to be named (Martin Luther College, University of Northwestern).
 
The Saints open their 2019 season on Friday, August 30 at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul with a match against Buena Vista University (Iowa).
