csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8-1 Sunday afternoon at the YMCA Menard's Tennis Center.
Doubles
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and
Sara Wennerstrand (Baxter, Minn. /Brainerd HS (Saint Benedict)) played a strong match, but eventually lost 8-4. UW-Eau Claire won the other two matches.
Singles
Rice, in the No. 3 position, was the lone victor of today's matches. Losing the first set, she quickly made a recovery to win the next 6-3. In the third set super-breaker, Rice outlasted her opponent 10-7.
