ORLANDO, Fla. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team saw its five-match win streak come to an end with a 6-3 loss of Oglethorpe University (Ga.) late Monday night at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Center.
Doubles
The lone doubles team to win for the Saints was the No. 2 team of
Sara Wennerstrand (Baxter, Minn. /Brainerd HS (Saint Benedict)) and
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) by an 8-3 margin for their third straight victory.
Singles
The Stormy Petrels (3-0) won four of the six singles matches to take the dual. Rice won for CSS at the No. 3 spot by scores of 6-2, 6-2 for her fifth straight win. The other winner on the night was
Madilyn Jankila (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at the No. 6 spot by scores of 6-7 (1-7), 7-5, (11-9).
