csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team earned a resounding 85-59 victory over Finlandia University (Mich.) at the Reif Gymnasium Wednesday evening.
How it Happened
After breaking a 2-2 tie one minute into the game, CSS would hold onto the lead for the rest of the game. Midway through the first half the Saints had earned an 11-point lead and would hold onto at least a 10-point lead for the rest of the game. In the remaining 10 minutes of the half, the Saints went on a 21-5 run to earn a 27-point lead. The half finished 47-20 in favor of CSS.
The teams traded baskets in the beginning of the second half, but the Saints went on an 11-3 run four minutes into the half to earn a 38-point lead, their largest of the game. The Lions (0-17) out-scored the Saints 19-7 in the final seven minutes to make the final score 85-59.
