CSS allowed just three runners to reach base in the win, two of which catcher

Bishop also paced the Saints at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a ground-rule double, a walk and three runs scored. Howe added a ground-rule double, two walks and two runs scored to help her own cause, while

CSS 2, Edgewood 0
Maggie Schley (Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) (1-0) picked up her fourth-career shutout in the nightcap against Edgewood, striking out four and not giving up a walk, while allowing only four hits, in the complete-game victory.
Howe and
Karissa Ratcliff (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) each went 2-for-3 with a ground-rule doubles, and
Josie Fourre (Albany, Minn./Albany HS) added a ground-rule double and scored the game-winning run in the fifth inning.
Fourre started the fifth frame with her double, moved to third on a fielding error and scored on Ratcliff's double. It was all the Saints would need to post the win, as Schley and the defense kept Edgewood in check. The Eagles threatened in the sixth inning, loading the bases with one out, but a strikeout from Schley and a groundout to second base helped the Saints out of the late-game jam.
