Women’s Skiing has Five Place in the Top 30 in 10km Classic

HOUGHTON, Mich. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's nordic ski team completed competition at the Pre-U.S. Nationals CXC Cup event on Sunday with the 10km classic race on the Michigan Tech Trails.
 
Top Performances
The Saints had 11 skiers competing on Sunday with nine of those 11, first-year skiers.
 
One of those first-year skiers Emma Stertz (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) led the way with an 18th-place finish in a time of 35:54. Mae Barnes (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) followed placing in 21st place with a time of 36:36.
 
Rana Kraftson (Bayport, Minn./Stillwater HS) came across in 21st place with a time of 36:45. Maja Petersson (Solleftea, Sweden/Solleftea Gymnasium) was 25th overall in 37:07 and Leah Dutkewych (Jefferson, N.H./White Mountains HS) was 26th overall in 37:11.
 
Up Next
The Saints will be back in action at the start of the New Year when they return to the Michigan Tech Trails competing in the U.S. Championships beginning on January 2.
