Men’s Hockey Finishes 2019 Hosting the Gusties Friday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team will have its final game before the Holiday break when it welcomes Gustavus Adolphus College for a non-conference matchup Friday night at Mars Lakeview Arena.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-CSS is coming off a series split at No. 6 Adrian College (Mich.) last weekend.
-The Saints won Friday night's game 3-2 behind 50 saves from senior goaltender Zane Steeves (Red Deer, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (100 Mile Wranglers-KIJHL)).
-It marked the first regular season win at Adrian in program history.
-Steeves' 50 saves was the most by a Saint since February of 2013.
-Junior Carson Rose (Surrey, British Columbia/Elgin Park Secondary (Weyburn-SJHL)) has a point in three straight games and leads the team with seven goals and 10 points.
-Sophomore Sam Fuss (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minot-NAHL)) has a team-best five assists.
-The Saints are tied for the fewest power-play goals in the conference with four through 11 games.
-Rose has three of those four power-play goals.
-Senior Kyle Star (Langley, British Columbia/Brookswood (Trail Smoke-BCHL)) needs one more point to hit 50 for his career.
-Steeves needs 40 saves to reach 1,000 for this career.
 
What You Need to Know about Gustavus Adolphus:
Record: 5-5-0, 2-2-0 MIAC
-The Gusties are coming off an overtime loss at Saint Mary's University on Saturday.
-Gustavus is 2-0 against the NCHA thus far this year as it swept Lawrence University (Wis.) to open the season.
-GAC has split with Augsburg University, a team that swept the Saints to begin the year.
-Gustavus is 4-2 on the road, while just being 1-3 at home.
-Junior Caleb Anderson leads the team with nine points.
-Anderson and fellow junior Logan Norman each have a team-best four goals.
-Three different Gusties have five assists.
-Junior Robbie Goor has seen the majority of time in goal with a 2.29 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage.
-The Gusties are 3-0 on the year when scoring first.

Series History: CSS has won four straight over the Gusties, scoring at least three goals in all four wins … The Saints are 4-0-1 in the last five meetings.
