DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team welcomed Martin Luther College on Wednesday for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Semifinal matchup at Saints Field. Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) scored two first half goals to give the Saints the 2-0 victory over the Knights.

How It Happened
St. Scholastica owned Martin Luther's side of the field for the majority of the game. St. Scholastica had 17 shots in the first half and would get two goals. Friday's first goal in the 19th minute of the game was unassisted following a quick in and out of defenders to get the goal. Friday would score her second goal less than three minutes later when she headed in a Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS) corner kick.

St. Scholastica would have chances to extend the lead in the second half, but would have to settle for the 2-0 victory after holding the Knights (8-10-1) to one shot on goal.

Goalkeeping
Alexa Gothard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Lake Superior College)) recorded her ninth shutout of the season, making just the one save. Mollie Fischer had six saves for the Knights.
