Women’s Soccer Senior Day Set for Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team returns to Saints Field on Saturday as it hosts Bethany Lutheran College for Senior Day.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a 7-0 victory at Northland College on Wednesday night.
-CSS has yet to allow a goal in conference play this season and has out-scored league opponents 29-0.
-The Saints currently hold a game lead over both the University of Northwestern (Minn.) and the University of Wisconsin-Superior for first place in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).
-CSS will honor six seniors during Saturday's contest.
-After three goals and two assists in Wednesday's win, Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) needs just three more points to become the 10th player in program history to record at least 50 points in a single season.
-Friday already ranks 17th on the program's career points list after just 37 games.
-She currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division III with 21 goals.
-Junior goalkeeper Alexa Gothard (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS (Lake Superior College)) leads the conference with seven shutouts and a 1.35 goals-against-average.
-Senior Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS) leads the conference with five assists in UMAC games.
 
What You Need to Know about Bethany Lutheran:
Record: 8-7-0, 4-2-0 UMAC
-The Vikings are coming off a 4-1 victory at North Central University (Minn.) on Wednesday.
-With two conference games remaining, Bethany sits fourth in the UMAC standings, but only one game up in the loss column over rival Martin Luther College, who has already beaten the Vikings.
-BLC will be led by Maddie Perry, who ranks second in the conference with 16 goals and 33 points.
-Perry leads the conference with six game-winning goals and leads all of NCAA Division III, averaging 8.5 shots per game.
 
Series Record: CSS leads 24-1-1 (Last Meeting: 7-0 CSS – 10/27/2018)
 
Series History: The Saints are 13-0 all-time in Duluth against the Vikings … The lone BLC win in the series took place in 2016 down in Mankato.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints will host Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior in the regular season finale on Tuesday at Saints Field.
