NEW ULM, Minn. (
csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team extended its win streak to five matches with a four-set triumph at Martin Luther College on Saturday.
How it Happened
The Saints held a narrow lead for much of the opening set and would have set point at 24-23, but three straight kills by Martin Luther's Kati Aguilar gave the Knights (3-17, 1-3 UMAC) the set 26-24.
The second set saw CSS jump up early on the Knights, but MLC climbed back in and trailed 11-10. However, the Saints then scored nine of the next 11 points to pull away and take the set 25-15 to even the match at a set apiece.
St. Scholastica then used a 10-1 run early in the third set to take command of the set and ultimately win 25-12. In the fourth set, the Saints had runs of seven straight points and five straight points to put the Knights away, once again by a set score of 25-12.
