MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team was unable to take down unbeaten and No. 7-ranked University of St. Thomas on Saturday, falling 5-1 in non-conference action.

How it Happened
The Tommies (12-0-0) struck for two first period goals in the final nine minutes of the period to lead 2-0 at the first intermission. Then over a minute into the second period, St. Thomas scored on the power-play to make it 3-0.

St. Scholastica would find the net seven minutes into the second period as Greta Nundahl (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) scored her fifth goal of the season to cut the margin to 3-1. Tessa Lowry (Calgary, Alberta/Edge School) and Alexia Klaas (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) had the assists.

However, the Tommies answered less than two minutes later to extend the lead back to three. St. Thomas added one more goal in the third period to make the final 5-1.

Goaltending
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) got the start for the Saints and made six saves before being relieved by Lexi Thomeczek (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy (St. Louis AAA Blues)) early in the second period. Thomeczek finished with 29 saves. Mackenzie Torpy made 15 saves to earn the win for the Tommies.
