What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints have struggled to start off the New Year. The Saints are 0-6 in 2019, and are 2-8 in their last 10 games.
-The Saints currently sit at fifth place in the North Division and sit three points behind Finlandia University (Mich.) and Northland College.
-In the current losing streak the Saints are allowing 5.3 goals per game, while only scoring 3.2 goals per game. They also are taking 11.5 penalty minutes per game.
-The Saints goalies have combined for a .847 save percentage in January, though the team is allowing 30.5 shots per game, .6 lower than the season average. They also have allowed 10 special team goals, nine of which came from power plays.
-Over the weekend four different Saints recorded goals.
Michael Talbot (Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS (Minot-NAHL)),
Cole Golka (Ardrossan, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Dryden Ice Dogs-SIJHL)),
Dustin Cordeiro (Kitchener, Ontario/Elliot Lake Secondary School (Cochrane-NOJHL)), and
Nate Pionk (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS (Minot-NAHL)) all found the back of the net for the Saints.
-Golka scored three times in the Saints two games, he cushions his team lead to four, as he now has 12 goals on the season. Golka is second in the NCHA in goals.
-Golka now leads the team in points with 20 (12G, 8A). Sophomores Pionk and
Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)) are now tied for second place on the team with 17 points.
-Fralich's 16 assists also lead all NCHA players.
-The Saints are 8-1-0 when leading after two periods, but are 1-8-1 when tied or trailing after two.
-The Saints outshoot opponents in the first period only. They're outshot by 40 in the second period and 8 in the third.
-The Saints are 0-5 when they fail to score first and are winless when trailing at an intermission.
-The Saints are 0-2-1 in games that go into overtime and are 2-3 in one goal games (including overtime).
What You Need to Know about Lawrence:
Record: 4-14-1, 2-9-1 NCHA
-Lawrence comes into the weekend last in both the North Division and the overall NCHA standings.
-The Vikings are also winless in 2019, they are 0-4-1 in the last five games.
-The Vikings are 1-6-0 on the road this season, their only win coming at Finlandia.
-Junior Jake Drinkard leads the Vikings with five goals.
-Senior Josh Koepplinger leads the team with seven assists, he also leads the team with 10 points.
-Junior Evan Cline sees majority of net time for the Vikings, he has a 3-11-1 record with a 3.11 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
-Lawrence averages 1.37 goals per game, and allows 3.79.
-Lawrence is 3-1 when scoring first, but 1-13-1 when they allow the first goal.
-The Vikings are outshot by 217 this season, they get outshot by 188 in the first two periods combined.
Series Record: CSS leads 16-3-1

Series History: The Saints have controlled this series from the start, they have only lost three times and those losses have never been within three games of each other. The Saints are 8-2 in the last 10 games against Lawrence, and are 9-0-1 all-time in Duluth against these Vikings.
What You Need to Know about Marian:
Record: 9-7-3, 7-4-1 NCHA
-Marian comes into the weekend second in the North Division with 15 points.
-They will travel to Ashland, Wis. to take on Northland Friday night before heading to Duluth.
-The Sabres are 5-2-2 on away ice this season.
-The Sabres were ranked all the way up at No. 13 this season. Though they have slowed down a little to start 2019, they are 2-2-1 since the turn of the calendar.
-Senior Nick Monfils leads the Sabres with seven goals.
-Junior Conner Blanck leads the team with nine assists, also leads the Sabres with 14 points.
-Junior Hunter Vorva has logged almost 1000 minutes this season. He owns an 8-6-3 record, with help from a .936 save percentage and a 1.93 GAA. Vorva has two shutouts this season.
-Vorva's save percentage ranks him in seventh in the country, and top in the NCHA
-Marian gets outshot in the first and third periods, but outshoots opponents by 21 in the second.
-The Sabers are 8-1-1 when scoring first, but are 1-6-2 when they don't.
Series Record: MU leads 12-10
(Last Meeting: 4-3 MU – 12/29/2018)
Series History: This series has two completely different halves to it. The first half where CSS dominated it, but the Sabres have controlled most recently. In the first 11 games the Saints controlled the series going 9-2. Since that ninth win all time in February 2014, Marian completely flipped the scripts going 10-1 against the Saints and taking the lead in the series. Though it looks like the Saints are trying to reverse the series back to the beginning as the last two games have been one-goal games.
Looking Ahead: The Saints will stay home to wrap up their final home stand of the 2018-2019 season with two huge divisional games against St. Norbert College (Wis.) and Finlandia. Saints will take on St. Norbert Friday, February 1 at 7 p.m. They'll follow with Finlandia February 2 at 5 p.m.
