csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team cruised to a 79-42 victory against Crown College on Saturday.
How it Happened
The first six points of the game all came from free throws,
Danielle Cieluch (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) got the Saints on the board three minutes into the game after making a pair of free throws,
Kaylee Kennedy (Littlefork, Minn./Littlefork-Big Falls HS) added a pair a minute later, and Cieluch made two more to give CSS a six-point lead. The Saint then went on a 10-6 run to end the quarter 16-6 in favor of CSS. Kennedy was 6-for-6 from the line in the period
In the second quarter, the Saints went four-for-five on 3-point attempts, 10-for-16 on field goal attempts to outscore Crown 27-14 and increase their lead to 23 points at the half.
Michala Walther (Roseville, Minn./Concordia Academy) had 10 points in the period.
After an even third quarter in which both teams put up 20 points, the Saints dominated the fourth quarter, putting up 16 points, while limiting the Storm to two points. CSS finished the game with a 79-42 victory.

Mariah Pearson (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and Cieluch each put up 11 and
Emma Schmidt (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria HS) added 10 points. Pearson recorded her first career double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds. Cieluch led in blocks with five.

Patricia Gibson led the Storm (2-13, 0-7 UMAC) in scoring with 12 points. Gibson also led in rebounds with 14.
