Women’s Soccer Heads to Augsburg Wednesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will face Augsburg University under the lights Wednesday in Minneapolis.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints allowed only one goal over the weekend as they hosted the BSN Sports Labor Day Challenge to open the season.
-CSS played Luther College (Iowa) to a scoreless draw on Sunday, after losing to the Norse in the only two previous meetings by a goal each time.
-Senior Hannah Zeis (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS), junior Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) and sophomore Mara Roberts (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) were named to the All-Tournament team.
-Rudolph was also named the UMAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after making 17 saves total in the two games.
-CSS will be in search of its first win over a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) program since a 2-1 win over Hamline to open the 2015 season.
-Senior Becca Rancour (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson HS) is one point shy of 100 for her career.
-Senior Rachel Dixon (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) is three points shy 50 for her career.
 
What You Need to Know about Augsburg:
-The Auggies opened the season with a pair of home losses over the weekend to No. 19 California Lutheran and No. 10 Washington-St. Louis.
-Augsburg has been picked to finish second in the MIAC this season, but did receive four first-place votes in the preseason poll.
-Augsburg won the MIAC regular season title in 2017.
-The Auggies will be led by MIAC Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches Association (USC) Second Team All-American Ashley St. Aubin.
-St. Aubin had 16 goals and 36 points a season ago.

Series History: The Auggies are 3-0-1 in the last four meetings with the Saints, including winners of the last three.
