Women’s Soccer Faces UMAC Test in Northwestern Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team will face the University of Northwestern (Minn.) for the second time in 12 days on Saturday when it welcomes the Eagles to Saints Field.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints have won four straight, including shutouts in each of the last three games.
-CSS has not allowed a goal in the last 356 minutes.
-Junior goalkeeper Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) has been a big reason for that and was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
-Rudolph leads the conference with a 0.97 goals-against-average and a .851 save percentage.
-Junior Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS) was named the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
-Rouillard has recorded a goal in each of the last four games.
-Rouiilard is two points shy of 50 for her career.
-Freshman Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) ranks seventh in the nation, averaging 7.4 shots per game.
-CSS as a team ranks 22nd in NCAA Division III, averaging 12.3 shots on goal per contest.
-Senior Rachel Dixon (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) has already matched her assist total from the previous two seasons with four thus far.
 
What You Need to Know about Northwestern:
Record: 3-4-2, 3-1-0 UMAC
-The Eagles are coming off a 2-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday.
-Northwestern is the defending UMAC regular season champion.
-The Eagles also feature a solid goalkeeper in Samantha Colombo, who ranks second in the league in goals-against-average (1.33), save percentage (.829) and shutouts (2).
-Linley Norman leads the team with four goals and is tied for the conference lead with two of those goals being game winners.
-Anna Welch has a team-best three assists.
-Northwestern is 2-0-1 in road games thus far this season.

Series History: A Rouillard goal in the 87th minute gave the Saints the 1-0 victory in meeting in St. Paul on September 18 … Each of the last four meetings have been decided by one goal … Northwestern has played only twice in the Duluth in the last nine get-togethers.  
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints head across the bridge to face rival University of Wisconsin-Superior on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Superior High School.
