ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – After falling behind 1-0, the St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored nine unanswered goals, with freshman Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) recording four of those, to give the Saints a 9-1 victory over Crown College Wednesday evening in the conference opener for both teams.

How it Happened
The Storm (2-1-0, 0-1-0 UMAC) scored in the fourth minute to take an early lead, but Friday found the equalizer with a header less than 30 seconds later. It was St. Scholastica's first goal of the season and was assisted by Janelle Rouillard (Dayton, Minn./Rogers HS).

Like Friday, Kaiya Quam (Oakdale, Minn./Mounds View HS) added scored her first collegiate goal in the 28th minute to make it 2-1 and the Saints were off and running. Lexie DeWall (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS (Morningside)) had the assist.

Friday scored her second goal by way of a penalty kick in the 42nd minute and then added her third 54 seconds later. Emily Thoreson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) had the assist on Friday's third goal. Hannah Zeis (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS) found the net in the final minute of the first half with another assist from DeWall to make the halftime score 5-1.

A Rachel Dixon (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) assist set up Friday's fourth-and-final goal of the game in the 57th minute. Becca Rancour (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson HS) got involved in the scoring party in the 72nd minute with McKenzie Nelson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) supplying the assist. It was Nelson's first collegiate point and Rancour's 101st point as a Saint.

Rouillard scored on a PK in the 82nd minute and the final goal of the contest came from Lorena Lane (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) in the 84th minute to make the final score 9-1. That marked Lane's first collegiate goal.
