LAKEVILLE, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica women's tennis team defeated Martin Luther College on Saturday by a score of 6-3 for another Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) victory.
Doubles
The Saints got doubles victories in the No. 2 and 3 spots with Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert HS) (No. 2) winning 8-5. Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn./Armstrong HS) and Emma Bartels (Roseville, Minn./Mounds View HS (Minn.-Duluth)) (No. 3) won their match with an 8-1 score.
Singles
CSS dropped the No. 1 singles match, and came close in the No. 2 spot when Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico/Universidad Tecmilenio) fell in a third set super-breaker, 6-2, 6-1, (10-3). Coryell won her 10th straight singles match 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 slot. Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century HS) (No. 4) won her match 6-1, 6-1. Brascugli (No.5) and Taylor Hays (Altoona, Wis./Altoona HS) (No. 6) won their match-ups as well with scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-3, respectively.
