AUBURNDALE, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The No. 22 St. Scholastica baseball team was defeated by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 4-2 on Saturday to finish action at the Russmatt Invitational.

The Action
Both St. Scholastica's Dan Hansen (Brooklyn Center, Minn./Park Center HS) and Oshkosh's Colan Treml were dealing through the first four innings as the Titans (5-2) had two just hits and the Saints had one, while no base runner advanced past second base.

Chris Olson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) led the off the top of the fifth with a single. He would advance to third after a pair of outs, but would be left stranded. The Titans drew a walk to leadoff the bottom frame and after a stolen base followed by an error, would get a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.

Aaron Weber (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Pierz HS) led off the sixth inning being hit by a pitch. Two batters later, Eric Pearson (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) hit a RBI double to bring in Weber and tie the game at 1-1. Oshkosh responded in the bottom half with a one out RBI single as the Titans regained the lead 2-1.

The Titans put together a two-out rally in the seventh with back-to-back hit by pitches, followed by a wild pitch and then a two-run single to extend the lead to 4-1.

Riley Bernsdorf (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS) had a RBI single in the eighth to plate Steven Neutzling (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral) and make it 4-2, but that would be the last run of the game as the Saints fell 4-2.

Pitching
Hansen struck out four in six innings and allowed just one earned run in the loss. Jake Turner (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in relief.

Colan Treml struck out seven in 7.2 innings to earn the victory. Scott Gorsuch pitched the final inning pick up the save.
