csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica men's tennis team lost 8-1 to University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday evening.
Doubles
St. Scholastica was swept in the three doubles matches. The teams lost by scores of 8-5, 8-3 and 8-2, respectively.
Singles
The Saints won one of six singles matches.
Elliot Schneider (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) inched out a win by pushing his match at the No. 2 spot into a third set super-breaker. Schneider won by scores of 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7). This is Schneider's second victory of the year.
No. 1 singles player
Serhii Tykhonenko (Kiev, Ukraine/Lyceum #100 "Podil") won his first set 6-4, lost the second 6-2 and lost the super-breaker 10-7.
