The Scoring
Despite being outshot in the first, the Saints were the only team to get on the board in the first. CSS opened the scoring with 9:14 left to go in the period. Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)) and Parker Mismash (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minnesota Magicians-NAHL)) set up Nolan Ross (Fort Frances, Ontario/Fort Frances HS (Fort Frances-SIJHL)) for his first goal of the season.

With 13:07 to go in the second, the Saints had doubled their advantage. This time it was Cole Golka (Ardrossan, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Dryden Ice Dogs-SIJHL)), assisted by Carson Rose (Surrey, British Columbia/Elgin Park Secondary (Weyburn-SJHL)) and Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)), to give the Saints a 2-0 lead. Less than a minute later, CSS scored a third, this time on the power play. It was Fralich and Rose again, this time setting up Kyle Star (Langley, British Columbia/Brookswood (Trail Smoke-BCHL)) to make it 3-0 to CSS.

Saint John's (5-5-2) were able to pull one back with 2:59 to go in the second. Shots on goal at the end of the period were 14-5 in favor of the Johnnies.

Shots on goal in the third were evenly matched and the Johnnies pulled their goalie with just under two minutes to go in the period. The Saints were able to take care of the empty net, Nate Pionk (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS (Minot-NAHL)) and Fralich were able to set up Golka for his second of the night to make it 4-1 to CSS.
