csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's hockey team defeated Marian University (Wis.) 1-0 off a power-play goal in overtime by
Rachel Anderson (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) on Saturday at Mars Lakeview Arena to capture the series sweep.
The Action
Despite out-shooting the Sabres 25-5 in the first period and going on the power-play once, the Saints were not able to find the back of the net in the first period.
The Saints picked up right where they left off in the second period, putting 20 shots on the Sabres' goal, but goaltender Lindsey Strainis saved every one.
CSS had two power-play opportunities in the third period. The second penalty was one in the last second of the period, putting the Saints on the power-play heading into overtime. And with just over three minutes remaining on the clock in OT, CSS'

Goaltending
Lori Huseby (Babbitt, Minn./Northeast Range HS) made 16 saves in net for the Saints in her first start of the season. Strainis made 66 saves for the Sabres.
