csssaints.com) -- The St. Scholastica men's soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss to the University of Wisconsin Superior in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament Final at NBC Spartans Sports Complex on Saturday.

How it Happened
The Yellowjackets (18-2-1) struck first, 15 minutes into the first half on a Blake Doyea goal to make it 1-0. Shots at the end of the half were 7-6 in favor of Superior.

Darby Henderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) leveled the score in the 54
th minute with an assist from
Jordan Finneran (Newmarket, England/Cambridge Regional College). However, the Yellowjackets regained the lead in the 67
th minute with a goal by James Bruce. Superior extended their lead less than three minutes later to make it 3-1.

In the final minutes, CSS pushed numbers forward and earned four corners, but were unable to find the back of the net as the Yellowjackets advance to next week's NCAA Division III Tournament by earning the conference's automatic qualifier.

Goalkeeping
Corey Bulheller (Middleton, England/Highfields Secondary School (Bacone)) made seven saves in goal for the Saints. Dalton VonKaenel made six saves for the jackets.

The Saints finish their season with an overall record of 11-8-2.
