NEW ULM (csssaints.com)- The St. Scholastica women's soccer team remained undefeated in UMAC play with a 1-0 victory over Martin Luther College in New Ulm on Saturday.
How it Happened
The Saints controlled the game early, putting three shots on goal before Martin Luther (2-10, 2-4 UMAC) could get a shot off.
Morgan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's HS) was active for St. Scholastica in the first half, with 3 shots on goal. The first half ended scoreless, with the Saints out shooting the Knights, 4-1.
CSS dominated the second half when it came to shots on goal, but still struggled to put the ball in the net. Even though the Saints out shot Martin Luther, 11-0, in the second half, CSS failed to score until the 84
th minute when
Kaiya Quam (Oakdale, Minn./Mounds View HS) put the ball in the back of the net on an assist from
Rachel Dixon (Superior, Wis./Superior HS). It was Quam's second goal of the season, and it was an important one for the Saints.
Goalkeeping
Roni Rudolph (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS (Minnesota-Duluth)) had one save to earn the win for CSS, while Mollie Fischer had 14 saves in the loss for the Knights.
