DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team heads on the road this weekend to face non-conference opponent Augsburg University followed by conference leader University of Northwestern (Minn.).

What You Need To Know About The Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a pair of losses to Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior and No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
-Junior Brooke Schermann (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) leads the conference and ranks 19th in NCAA Division III in total attacks at 709 and ranks third in the league with 221 kills.
-Schermann has recorded at least 10 kills in each of the last four matches.
-CSS is 5-2 when they have a hitting percentage above .200.
-The Saints are now 7-0 when they win the first set and 0-12 when they drop the first set.
-They enter the weekend winless in true road matches this season (0-5)
 
What You Need To Know About Augsburg:
Record: 16-3, 4-2 MIAC
-The Auggies are coming off a three-set loss to the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday, which snapped an eight-match win streak.
-Augsburg is the only team to have beaten UW-Eau Claire this season, who the Saints lost to on Wednesday.
-The Auggies lead the MIAC, limiting opponents to a .110 hitting percentage.
-They rank 15th in NCAA Division III, averaging 2.13 blocks per set.
-Macey Terhell ranks second in the conference with 342 total digs.
-The Auggies have great balance offensively with four players with at least 145 kills, led by Corrina Evans with 161 kills.
-Augsburg is just outside the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III top 25 poll.

-The Eagles are coming off a sweep of Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday.
-Prior to that, they fell in three sets to Augsburg last Friday.
-Northwestern leads the UMAC in kills per set (13.8), hitting percentage (.239) and digs per set (17.3).
-The Eagles rank eighth in NCAA Division III in kills per set.
-Mariah Helversen is fourth in the country with 4.5 kills per set.
-Sydney Schwitters leads the nation with 11.9 assists per set.
