Volleyball Concludes Regular Season Wednesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team plays its final two matches of the regular season on Wednesday and will look to lock up the No. 4 seed for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament when it faces both Crown College and North Central University (Minn.).

What You Need To Know About The Saints:
-St. Scholastica will clinch a UMAC Tournament berth with one win on Wednesday.
-CSS will clinch the No. 4 seed with two wins or a win and a Martin Luther College loss.
-The Saints are coming off a four-set victory over Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday.
-The win marked the first true road victory of the season for the Saints.

-Senior Sofia Rajala (Deer River, Minn./Greenway HS) has recorded double-figure kills in back-to-back matches for the first time in her career.

-Junior Brooke Schermann (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) is 12 kills shy of 300 for the season. No Saint has had at least 300 kills in a season since Kortney Morrin in 2015.
-Junior Espi Austvold (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) is five assists shy of 1500 for her career.
-Sophomore Madissen Burns (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) is five kills shy of 300 for her career.

Record: 3-23, 2-12 UMAC
-The Storm have won two of their last four matches, including a three-set victory over Macalester College last Wednesday.
-That marked the program's first win over a MIAC school since 2011.
-Two of their three wins this season have come at home.
-Crown has the fewest kills (549) and lowest hitting percentage (.018) in the conference.
-Christine Anderson leads the team with 173 kills.
-Anderson was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Series History: The Saints have swept the Storm the last nine meetings and have only dropped one set all-time at Crown.
