DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team will head to Bethany Lutheran College Saturday in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) match with plenty of postseason implications on the line.

What You Need To Know About The Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a three straight losses to the Hamline University, University of Minnesota Morris and St. Olaf College.
-The Saints are currently in the fifth and final playoff spot in the UMAC playoffs, but with a win over the Vikings could put the Saints in the driver seats for the fourth seed.
-The Saints have three conference matches remaining, while Vikings have only two matches left.
-The Saints swept the Vikings in Duluth earlier this season.
-The Saints occupy the tie breaker with Martin Luther College after they lost to Martin Luther in four sets, but returned to sweep them in Duluth.
-CSS has five players with over 100 kills, Brooke Schermann (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) leads that group with 274.
-CSS is 8-0 when it wins the first set and 0-17 when it drops the first set.
-The Saints are still in search of their first road win of the season. (0-7)

-The Vikings enter Saturday's match currently in the fourth spot in the UMAC playoffs with two matches remaining.
-BLC controls its own destiny, facing the Saints on Saturday and rival Martin Luther on Wednesday to complete the conference schedule.
-The Vikings are 2-4 at home the season.
-The Vikings enter Saturday winners in three of their last four.
-Megan Rutt leads her team with kills (332) and is second in the UMAC with 3.93 kills per set.
-Kalli Mathiasen leads the Vikings with 584 assists this season, she averages 6.79 assist per set which ranks her fourth in the UMAC.

Series History: The Saints have only lost eight of the 30 matches played between the squads, all eight of the Vikings victories came in the first 11 meetings dating from 2004-2008. Since the 12th match played on Halloween 2008, the Saints haven't lost to the Vikings, making it 19 straight match victories. In that stretch the Saints have only lost 4 sets to Bethany.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints will wrap up the regular season with matches at Crown College and North Central University (Minn.) on Wednesday.
