DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica volleyball team welcomes Bridge Rival University of Wisconsin-Superior on Tuesday and nationally-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday to the Reif Gymnasium this week.

What You Need To Know About The Saints:
-The Saints are coming a sweep of Martin Luther College on Saturday, which may prove critical as now the Saints hold the tiebreaker over the Knights.
-The Saints are now 7-0 when they win the first set and 0-10 when they drop the first set.
-CSS will be in search of its first three-match win streak since October of 2016.
-Brooke Schermann (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) is third in the UMAC with 191 kills and 221.5 points.
-Emily Bounds (Hill City, Minn./Hill City HS) ranks fourth in the conference with 31 service aces.
-The Saints had a conference-high this season of 69 assists in the last meeting with the Yellowjackets.
-CSS currently sits fourth in the conference standings, a match clear of both Bethany Lutheran College and Martin Luther.

Record: 13-6, 8-1 UMAC
-The Yellowjackets have won their last two matches by sweeps over Martin Luther and Crown College.
-The lone conference loss was at the University of Northwestern (Minn.) last week in three sets.
-UWS leads the UMAC in opponents' hitting percentage, limiting teams to .147 attack percentage.
-Superior ranks 16th in NCAA Division III with 804 team kills.
-Setter Emily VerWay ranks third in the nation with 676 assists.
-VerWay also has 25 service aces on the year.
-Taylor Howe leads the team with 175 kills, followed by Cami Sletta with 166.
 
Series Records: UWS leads 37-33 (Last Meeting: 3-2 UWS – 9/18/2018)
 
Series History: The Yellowjackets have won the last three in the series, including rallying from a 2-1 deficit two weeks ago at Reif to win in five sets … UWS has not won back-to-back matches at the Reif since the mid-1990s.

Record: 16-1, 3-0 WIAC
-The Blugolds will enter Wednesday on an 11-match win streak.
-The lone loss of the season was at Augsburg University on September 7.
-UWEC has swept it last seven opponents.
-Eau Claire is currently ranked 17th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III poll.
-The Blugolds rank sixth in NCAA Division III in kills per set (13.9).
-They also rank 17th with a .251 hitting percentage.
-Madison Surprise is third in the nation, averaging 11.4 assists per set.
-Madelyn Pashibin leads the team with 186 kills and leads the WIAC with a .337 hitting percentage.
