Men’s Hockey Travels to Bethel Tuesday

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team has its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday when it faces Bethel University in Blaine.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints are coming off a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Hamline University last Wednesday.
-CSS enters with a six-game unbeaten streak, including winners of its last five.
-The five-game win streak is its longest since the 2009-10 season.
-The Saints are 4-0 against the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
-CSS has never had a perfect winning percentage against the MIAC in program history.
-Freshman defenseman Jordan Fralich (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall School (Bismarck-NAHL)) has at least one point in four straight games
-Sophomore forward Kyle Star (Langley, British, Columbia/Brookswood (Trail Smoke-BCHL)) has at least one point in three straight games.
-Nate Pionk (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS (Minot-NAHL)) has at least one point in each of the last three games he has appeared in.
-Four players lead the team with 10 points – Pionk, Star, Mark Whiteley (Surrey, British Columbia/Holy Cross HS (Marian University)) and Parker Mismash (Edina, Minn./Edina HS (Minnesota Magicians-NAHL)).
-Davis Ross (Fort Frances, Ontario/Fort Frances HS (Fort Frances-SIJHL)) has a team-best five goals.
-CSS is 8-2 when it records a power-play goal, which it has done in each of the last five games.

What You Need to Know about Bethel:
-The Royals enter Tuesday's contest with a 1-13 overall record.
-Bethel has not played since December 8, but did face the University of Wisconsin-Stout in an exhibition on Saturday.
-Bethel has lost six straight games, including being shutout in four of those contests.
-The lone win this season came at Concordia College-Moorhead on November 17.
-The Royals have the lowest scoring offense (1.6/game) and highest scoring defense (4.3) in the MIAC.
-Bethel has scored first only once in the first 14 games and is being outscored 15-1 in the opening period.
-Junior forward Peter Barral leads the team with five goals and 10 points.
-Senior forward Jackson Purvis has a team-high six assists.

Series History: This will be the first meeting between the two teams since January of 2011 … CSS has won two straight in the series … The last St. Scholastica loss at Bethel took place in November of 2005.
 
Looking Ahead: The Saints have a pivotal conference weekend at home when it welcomes Concordia University Wisconsin on Friday and the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday to Mars Lakeview Arena.
