Dickinson Leads Women’s Skiing to 2nd Place in Rhinelander

RHINELANDER, Wis. (csssaints.com) – For the second time in three Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) qualifying races, the St. Scholastica women's nordic ski team placed runner-up as a team on Sunday in the 10km classic Rhinelander Qualifier.
 
Top Performances
Senior Kelsey Dickinson (Winthrop, Wash./Liberty Bell HS) had her best finish of the season, coming home third with a time of 33:40. Junior Greta Jenkins (Palmer, Alaska/Colony HS) just missed a top-10 finish, crossing the line in 11th with a time of 35:31. The final Saint to score was Cecelia Boyle (Oakdale, Minn./Tartan HS) in 14th with a time of 36:07. That marked the first time this season Boyle has scored for the team.
 
Hanna Dahlberg (Ulricehamn, Sweden/Tingsholms School) was 15th with a time of 36:57. Samantha Benzing (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) was 18th with a time of 37:57.
 
Team Scores
Northern Michigan University won the event with 108 points. NMU's Vivian Hett led all skiers with a winning time of 31:50.
 
The Saints were second with 82 points. Michigan Tech University was third with 74 points. The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay was fourth with 59 points. St. Cloud State University fifth with 58 points and St. Olaf College sixth with 44 points.
 
Up Next
The Saints will be at Michigan Tech University next weekend for a pair of qualifying races in Houghton.
